FAQ

If you are new to massage therapy, I understand you might have some questions. These are the typical questions I am asked on a regular basis. If you still have unanswered questions, feel free to contact me.

How do I schedule a massage with you?

Please use the contact information for Munger Physical Therapy in Fort Gratiot MI

How do I know what massage/bodywork is best for me?

We can discuss at the time of your appointment a quick history and/or any medical supervision you may be working with and discuss the best approach or modality of massage/bodywork that works with your needs.

How should I prepare for my massage?

Be sure to hydrate before and after your massage, you can wear loose fitting gym clothes or undress to your comfort level on the table, be sure to communicate any skin issues or medical concerns to the therapist before the massage.

Can I work out after my massage?

Yes …you can work out after massage.  Most people plan a massage at a time where they can relax after.

Are same day appointments available?

Sometimes there are openings and there will be a waiting list available if there are no openings at the time you are seeking.    You may request to be placed on that list in the event there is a cancellation.  It is best to plan ahead to ensure the day and time you desire or need.

Should I still get a massage if I am sick or not feeling well?

No .  We ask that you call and cancel your massage as soon as possible if you are sick or exhibiting symptoms.  In some cases massage may cause more discomfort and this will also prevent passing illness to others.

What if I am late for my appointment?

Please arrive on time for your appointment.  Time for your appointment has been specially arranged for you.  If you are late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate those whose appointments follow yours.  I will do my best to provide the service that has been booked, but I cannot guarantee the full time if you arrive late.  Full payment for scheduled services is expected.

How often should I schedule a massage?

Massage frequency and duration will depend on the type of massage you want and the area you want to target. Many research studies recommend a certain massage frequency and duration to address underlying health problems like pain or injury.  Discuss with your massage therapist how often you should visit to address your needs.
